The ongoing sit-at-home protests in Southeast Nigeria are led by loyalists of Simon Ekpa, a separatist leader recently arrested in Finland on terrorism charges. Ngozi Orabueze, Chief of Staff of the self-declared Biafra Republic Government in Exile, insists that these protests are a voluntary agreement among Biafrans and commends the Biafra Defence Forces for their defiance against Nigerian security forces. Orabueze also reveals plans for a Biafra independence re-declaration event in Finland on December 2, while accusing the Nigerian government of severe human rights violations. In response, the Enugu State Government has pledged to present evidence of alleged atrocities linked to Ekpa's actions.
